Ik heb juist wel eens anders gehoord. Hopelijk weet Merlin de oude sfeer vast te houden, dat er maar 1 woodie blijft staan, schept al niet echt hoop wat dat betreft.

Kijk ik naar de Legoparken in Duitsland en Californië, dan zijn het toch wat kalere parken. Ok, in onontwikkelde gebieden gebouwd dus met weinig oud groen, maar ik hoop dat dat in Florida wel beter vanaf het begin aangelegd wordt.

Galaxy Spin wordt verwijdert. Aan welk park zou deze coaster verkocht zijn?

Galaxy Spin is al bevestigd voor Fun Spot USA in Kissimmee.
Verder is het helaas wel erg stil rond Legoland Florida op dit moment.
Misschien dat dit de reden is voor het volgende nieuwtje:

Ik heb hier dus niet echt op gelet en kan dus ook niet zeggen of die boot met Bionicle theme al langer op de Mack site te zien is.
Maar zou dit oud nieuws zijn of zou dit echt betekenen dat Legoland Florida een Bionicle Supersplash krijgt?

Ik durf ook niet te zeggen of dit plaatje al langer op de site staat, maar ik zou gokken van niet.

Als er 1 lego park is wat een dergelijke waterattractie kan gebruiken, dan is het natuurlijk Florida wel.

Dit zou ook een mooie trekker zijn voor het park, toch een tamelijk unieke attractie voor Orlando.

Het plaatje komt al uit 2005 waarschijnlijk, kijk maar eens naar de standaard naam als je het plaatje opslaat.

We zijn nog 15 maanden voor de 'her'opening van het park, maar nu al kijkt Merlin verder dan de opening. Er zijn namelijk plannen om naast het park een resort te bouwen, zoals dat ook in Denemarken bij Legolan te vinden is.

Legoland officials look ahead to Winter Haven resort

BARTOW - The opening of Legoland Florida on the former Cypress Gardens site in Winter Haven is still at least 15 months away, but already the owner of the new theme park has plans for a second phase of development.

Merlin Entertainments Group, which announced its plans for Legoland Florida in January, wants to follow a fall 2011 opening of the family theme park with the addition of a resort and convention center on the eastern shore of Lake Eloise, a Polk County tourism official said.

Mark Jackson, executive director of Polk County Tourism and Sports Marketing, spoke about the resort plans Wednesday during a report to the Polk County Commission. Jackson talked about his early-May business trip to London to meet Merlin officials and view the Legoland Windsor operation.

Jackson said the Legoland resort and convention center in Winter Haven will be similar to the ones at Merlin's Legoland Denmark park.

The convention center and resort will be built after Legoland Florida begins business operations, Jackson said.

"The hotels will be overlooking the water on the site of Legoland Florida," Jackson told commissioners. "The hotel rooms are theme oriented for children, with princess rooms for girls and dinosaur rooms for boys."

In Denmark, Merlin has 700 vacation rental homes, shops and restaurants across the street from the Legoland theme park, Jackson said.

"The resort and convention center in Denmark is just an incredible place to stay," added Tom Patton, the executive director of the Central Florida Development Council. "It's hard to describe in words just how remarkable this resort is."

Patton also was part of the local business mission to London and joined Jackson in the presentation to county commissioners.

Jackson said the planned resort and convention center in Winter Haven will be marketed to businesses near and far for their meetings.

"This can be a family business retreat for any kind of business wanting to hold meetings here," Jackson said. "That has become more of a trend for many businesses, allowing employees to bring family along on business meetings."

Merlin's target market for its Legoland parks are children ages 2 to 12 and their families.

A theme park, convention center and resort on one site will provide the "perfect" mix of work and pleasure for business meetings, Jackson said.

With some preliminary work already under way at the former Cypress Gardens site, major construction on Legoland Florida will begin at the end of June or in early July, Jackson said.

Jackson said Merlin Entertainments Group has given Polk County Tourism and Marketing and the Central Florida Development Council permission to hire as many qualified local firms as possible to assist with Legoland construction.

Isemann brings considerable expertise in theme park and attractions marketing and will lead the estimated 20-person marketing team as Director of Sales & Marketing for LEGOLAND Florida. Isemann joins the team of Model Citizens (LEGOLAND Park’s affectionate term for employees) from her role as General Manager of the Daytona 500 Experience Attraction at the Daytona International Speedway. Prior to the Speedway, Isemann was with SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment in escalating roles over a 12-year period, culminating in her position as the Florida Parks Director of Promotions. Isemann is a graduate of the University of Central Florida and will soon be relocating to Polk County.

“I’m thrilled to be a part of Merlin Entertainments Group on this exciting new venture,” Isemann said. “LEGOLAND has such a tradition of quality entertainment, and I know this will be a successful park when we open next year.”

Joining Isemann as the Manager of Sales is Andrus, a 13-year sales veteran from SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment where he was most recently the Senior Manager of National Sales. Andrus’ knowledge and contacts in the sales arena will prove invaluable to the first new theme park to be built in Central Florida in more than 10 years. Andrus graduated from Kent State University with a degree in Communications.

Wallace will be heading the communications efforts for the new park as Public Relations Representative. With more than 10 years of theme park experience, Wallace comes to LEGOLAND Florida directly from the promotions team at SeaWorld & Busch Gardens. Previously, she was a member of the SeaWorld Orlando media relations team that opened Aquatica, SeaWorld’s Waterpark and several headlining shows. Wallace graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Advertising and Public Relations.

Er is een previewdag geweest in Winterheaven voor iedereen die geinteresseerd was in hoe het nieuwe Legoland park eruit zal komen te zien.
Het was mogelijk om vragen te stellen aan o.a. de manager van het park.
Ook werd er verteld wat er gaat gebeuren met de Starliner woodie.
Gelukkig voor de fans word deze woodie keurig netjes uit elkaar gehaald, zodat er een mogelijke koper voor gevonden kan worden.

Jammer dat dit park pas volgend jaar in het najaar open gaat! Ik zag een duplo play!!

Ik kijk hier wel naar uit hoor.

De concepts van de woodie zien er machtig uit!

Ik ben bijzonder benieuwd wanneer de echt grote klap komt qua constructie/re-theming.

Het ziet er allemaal prima gethematiseerd uit.

Naast de Woodie hoop ik toch dat ze hier nog een voor Legoland unieke andere attractie neer gaan zetten. Een mooie waterbaan zou bijvoorbeeld prima passen in Florida.

Dit Legoland belooft er aantrekkelijk uit te gaan zien.

Dat wordt weer een extra dag die je nodig hebt bij een bezoek aan Orlando.
Niet dat dat een probleem mag zijn natuurlijk
